Import charges in uk

Hi board,I was on the ucapps forum for what seems like decades ago and luckily found my way here,so greetings all from me in the uk.

Has anyone else in the uk experienced the import charges?
When my item (loopa kit) was delivered I got hit with £74.12 import charges which I consider rather heavy,has anyone else come across these charges?

Yes, this is normal behaviour: the local VAT gets deducted by the shop first, so you will get a 19% cheaper purchase price when buying the kit, but you’ll have to pay 20% UK import VAT, so in the end the final price would not differ too much.

I was listening to some of your old tracks on youtube and sorta found my way here from there.
