ePixel and board washing

I’m getting ready to start the neo boards and I was wondering if the ePixel LEDs are water-proofed. I use an organic solder so I can wash the boards in water to remove the flux. If not, should I try using 100% alcohol instead?

I’m not too sure sorry, I always used no-clean flux. Theoretically they should be hermetically sealed, but LEDs are also notoriously sensitive to moisture/humidity. This is probably more relevant for reflow soldering in an oven, so maybe once all the soldering operations are done it’s okay?

personally, i can recommend to use 100% IPA - the boards clean up really nicely (e.g. with q-tips) and the alcohol will evaporate quickly.

Thanks for your input. I also read some app notes from Lite-on and Kingbright. They both say cleaning with IPA is recommended. I think I will probably solder the LEDs on last after all of the other components so they will not get washed repeatedly.
