I had another question regarding an alternative part for the Texas Instruments MC3487N - will this be ok to use in it’s place? https://au.element14.com/texas-instruments/mc3487ne4/line-driver-quad-rs422-3487-dip16/dp/1210969?st=texas%20instruments%20mc3487n
thanks in advance for assistance
Looks fine!
I think 595-MC3487NE4 also works at Mouser, no?
latigid on ah yes, thanks for the suggestion!
Is there a difference between 517-N2516-6002RB and 517-N2516-517-D2516-6V0C-AR-WE 16pin sockets? Both are one piece on the bom list.
Yep, one is an SMT part for the SD board 🙂
For my MatriX: Mouser announced the Bourns Slide Potentiometers (PTL30-15R0-103B1) not before August 2022. As well as the red 8-pin sockets (7-215079-8) are not available. Has someone an idea where I could get them from, instead?
Hi Robert,
Both would seem to be in stock at Digikey: https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/bourns-inc/PTL30-15R0-103B1/3781301?s=N4IgTCBcDaIAoBUAyBmADAWgIwFYBKmWaKAQliALoC%2BQA https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/7-215079-8/A99471TR-ND/1955698?WT.z_cid=ref_octopart_dkc_buynow&site=us&TEdistID=2186816674
Best regards, Andy
Thanks Andy, found and just ordered. Was not aware of Digikey. BR Robert
It looks like this resistor https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/KOA-Speer/MF1-4DC3300F?qs=YY4LFJmZXv3lWe8GyUXvKA%3D%3D
can replace this one for the Seq V4+? https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/660-MF1-4DCT52R3300F
Looks good! The difference would seem to be that the in-stock one is “bulk” packaged (i.e., loose), but as there is I think only one per build there shouldn’t be any issue with handling.
Hello. DIN8 socket what is noted in BOM is out of stock. Same manufacturer has similar one, but 3 pins don’t match. That’s a bummer. SDF-80J is in BOM SDS-80J is with same footprint, but 3 pins are swapped
If I use SDS on all my devices then it should be OK, but if I forget it and use SDF in future and connect BLM then what do I blow up?
The datasheet for SDF-80J seems to have a mistake! My layout
So the alternative that you propose should fit. I also found MAB8SHSW on TME that at least has the same pinout (did not check mechanically).
Hello,
I’m new to all of this. Just need some clarification. If I buy a kit I need the extra Mouser parts also to finish the build, correct?
And if so, is there a replacement part for the following item?
Mouser No:517-89108-0101 Mfr. No:89108-0101
Right, you need to order the Mouser parts.
No one liked the IDC8 headers from Mouser, so you can find them elsewhere e.g. https://www.ebay.de/itm/185256580907?_trkparms=ispr%3D1&hash=item2b2227172b:g:0kIAAOSwp45h4ZnD&amdata=enc%3AAQAGAAAA0PCpHQV2nDJ3QI5o1DugyeyaWgzndNlsxWSs%2FXZDyJgW0VaagXSAwGNmuoQlo8o4Nj0MpxDrF773ZH3HZqaTerAiTRaaOb39CUjqqI6tHohls96h%2FvOyw8WSsvTPHtAGYsNlrVzc5JDPaefCXVu%2Ffr4mauZj7EF08k%2FKnwh58958XYMuu6wIosTm53EsenBay0zGazIGXNGxclyLceCI2n0aGyx4VJ%2BwYaAQdckQDYtYWmBvRBx5v4oaWWBL0RqDnEXoB5Jy3J%2BKgxbUuHl2890%3D%7Ctkp%3ABFBMip-sxfdf
Hi! I found that 2N2222 can replace BC337. Correct?… :-) Thank you! Gael
Should be okay! Just check the pinout of your part.
Thanks Andy! Good advice, will do! :-)
Hello! For future référence : 2N2222 is EBC, so it has to be mounted backwards (BC337 is CBE) About the LCD trimmers : I don’t know why but I’m out of 10k trimmers. Should I use 5k or 25k ? (I understand that with the OLED this is not very important…) Have a great week-end!
Exactement, c’est vrai!
For the trimmers, just leave them off as there is no function with OLEDs (no contrast or backlight). In theory one could also forget the transistor too, but something should go on the USB board in case we ever find a use for the gate/footswitch jack.
Bon weekend à toi aussi! Andy
