Loading MIDI clips onto Loopa?

As per title; is there a way to load MIDI clips onto the Loopa? Any interface software to do this or via SDCARD somehow? Perhaps something to read/modify the LPA files?

@talondnb unfortunately this is not trivial - loading a MIDI-track within LoopA v2 will be extremely difficult, as we have no RAM left - doing it outside with an external app is also not so easy to handle, as you’d need to select which notes to import and would have to copy the .LPA file manually to the SD Card afterwards - also coding the app would potentially take a while, if it should be user-friendly and allow a note-range selection.

My suggestion: could you not record the respective section of the MIDI files into LoopA, by just loading the files into your DAW and “exporting them” via a USB-MIDI port that you manually record from LoopA? Then you already have an App (the DAW) which allows manual selection of the note range you want to import/transfer?

Hmm that’s unfortunate. Is there a way to read the LPA files to look at the MIDI data that’s stored within?

While there’s no official tool for this yet, it should be possible to build one relatively easily with AI 🙂 - here’s the original LoopA code repository of an older version, but the .LPA file format has not changed that much:

If you want to point your AI at it and need more information (i.e. exact byte position of the note storage for each track) for the newest release, let me know and i can find that out.
