Keep it short, you say? I could write volumes. Anyway, I’m Hans, and the first music I remember was an album of a marching band my dad had. Later, in the 70s, while listening mostly to country music, I was vaguely aware of synths, but the music I heard on the radio didn’t appeal to me as much as the underlying sounds, until things like the Buggles, Kraftwerk, and Depeche Mode were played. I took a couple of electronic music classes in college (for fun and enrichment, as I’m not talented or proficient at playing). After that, the trifecta of hindrances (lack of money, time, and space) kept me from completing any kind of usable setup, until recently.
I’m looking forward to my first serious DIY project, a Loopa, which is somewhere in transit. Up until now it’s been very simple stuff.
So cheers, thanks for this new forum, wish me luck, and let’s hope the component shortage doesn’t hinder our efforts.
