Question regarding changing layer controls

Hi there,

I’m trying to change what a particular layer is controlling. I have two questions.

I go to MENU, select “Event” and on layer D (in my case) it’s defaulted to “Roll.” I want to change that to Nth1, because I’m adventurous like that… Okay, so I scroll using GP9 and select “Nth1” and I initialize. Great! Except, now when I leave that menu screen and come back to it, it’s reverted back to “Roll.” What step am I missing?
Related to this: is there any way to avoid having to initialize when changing such a parameter? I’m asking because, of course, doing that erases anything that was on that track. Is the only way, to think careful carefully at the outset and plan out what each layer should control before initializing? What happens if you change your mind a bit later and want to change what a layer is controlling?

Hi,

Normally a track only needs to be initialised if the type/steps/layers changes. You do need to confirm change of a layer though, by pressing GP10. The GP10 button and OLED will blink until you do so. Changing the layer type will delete track data for that layer. This makes sense in many cases, because the display and data type might be quite different.

But I don’t think you need to init. the track each time, just the layer if the type changes.
