Hi, right there are two T1’s (one is listed as “T1.”) as the Core and USB boards used to be separate. You are dead right that the transistor on the Core board near the trimmers is not required because the OLED displays don’t use backlight or contrast controls.
The one on the USB back-panel board is for the (still under-utilised…) footswitch input.
