I found the script at the end totally on bottom of the page at shop side.

i had everything connecting fine with Mios studio and was testing the JA PCB (was getting ghosting leds; not good at all.) but now problem got a whole lot worse as the core suddenly stopped connecting with mios studio. is it possible i somehow erased the core and will need to flash it with the mios bootloader again?

Ghosting LEDs here can mean that the resistor network was the wrong type/backwards or one or more diodes or LEDs are backwards or “broken”. If you can get the digital inputs to trigger in debug mode on, it’s probably the latter.

i think i may have found a problem with one of the ribbon cables…..but the real problem now is that i can’t connect to mios studio at all. i’m getting power but nothing else- i’m wondering if its because i switched the big switch on the usb pcb when it was connected? i cant test anything now- totally stuck

….. the digital inputs are firing like crazy (along with the christmas light show on the JA PCB) so gonna test all these diodes and leds

edit ( all the leds are lighting so i guess it cant be them) and the diodes in the right positions

Well, it is nearly Xmas 🙂
Check that you didn’t short out strands of an IDC cable, also that there are no shorts between IC pins.
Normally this is the isolated shift register (incorrect) in place of the bussed one (correct), though

it possible to replace one the of 100nf caps on the le-mac board with a 68nf cap instead? i don’t have enough 100nf caps/ cheers

Should be fine. Or add 2× 68nF stacked on top of each other if you want to be sure.

me again. apologies. but are there any likely candidates for the rotary pot on the ja board not sending any data. everything else is working fine.

The switch on the encoder or the rotation? If everything is soldered it should work! The pins are directly connected to the shift register, so missing pullup or shift register pins?

unfortunately both the encoder and the switch . missing pullup? will check the shift register!

Maybe the encoder is not soldered in properly? Also make sure that the center pin of the three is at 0V (ground). You can check the turning function for alternate shorts to the center pin (2-bit Gray code). You should measure either +5V (10k pull up through the resistor network) or 0V if that contact is closed.

The switch side needs its diode connected and it should show up in the debug log.

Or you don’t register anything with “set debug on”?
