Power switch?

Hello all,
I am new to the Seq v4+ and have been setting up initial sequences and settings with the unit for the past week but one thing that has puzzled me is the lack of a power switch on the unit. I like to power off gear that isn’t being used and with the Seq v4+ I have to completely unplug the unit in order to get it to power off.

So, I was wondering if there was a way to wire up a power switch to the unit in order to power off the sequencer.

What you would do would depend if you want to preserve the USB signal to the computer. Interrupting the cable and putting a switch on the VBUS line would be fairly trivial.

For me, I have one power switch for everything (monitors aside!).

I use the Seq 4+ as a standalone hardware sequencer with no computer attached so its just sitting there powered on all the time without the power button.

I looked into a cable option previously and thought I could potentially get a USB-B to USB-A adapter and then use one of those inline USB power cables that then plug into a USB wall power adapter but it seems like a lot of adapters and cabling which is pretty redundant just for a simple on-off switch.

I don’t see why you need an A-to-B adaptor? In the eBay product above, plug the male A end into the PSU and the AB cable into the other end of the in-line switch?

@ndstudio as an alternative to an inline switch cable, especially if you have more USB gear that you want to switch from a central location i would recommend something like this:

It works also without a computer, the external PSU will also allow to power a LoopA at the same time as your SEQ v4+ and the switches work nicely.

Just a little update on the power switch issue.

Necessity is the mother of invention, I was able to craft a cable that operates like a light on/off switch that takes only the power signal and allows for turning the unit on and off. I did not like the idea of using multiple adapters and connections in order to have a power switch next to the unit for easy access. I also feel that the other proposed solutions are a little too verbose for a simple power switch.
