LoopA LED trouble

Hi there,
after an unfortunate studio accident I had to replace one of the ecoders. This worked out fine, but apperently something else was affected by the unit dropping about a meter. sometimes all but the beat or first switch LED stop working. At the moment it works ok, but I’m pretty sure I Have a bad connection somewhere. Any ideas?

I would start by reflowing every pin header and component on the Base PCB. All button presses work fine (then the SRIO chain is mostly fine)? Photos of the boards?

On the Base PCB, IC1B buffers the SRIO signals, also maybe the Waveshare Core board got bumped? You could also check the soldering of those pins.

latigid on Until now Ive only reflowed the top pcb, I thought, because all button presses worked, the top pcb must be the culprit. But problably my early soldering results are playing up again. Im sure this will fix it. thanks Andy!

Let’s just hope that it isn’t something loose on the inside boards, then you’d have to desolder all Matias switches! But if it is a chaining issue, that could point to a break in the SN74HC595 chain, which is unfortunately on the inside of the PCB sandwich.
I hope that it is “just” a loose contact/Wackelkontakt on the pin headers.
