so I’ve started the build I’m at the first stage with the wCore board(s). Question: the 50-pin interboard headers are not in the BOM? I can’t find them there, and I haven’t got them from Mouser. Thanks for your reply.

Nevermind — just found them in the Midiphy box delivered… sorry. 
And I’ve soldered them. Very nice, shiny 100 joints. They won’t go anywhere.
Except they’re on the wrong side of the board! 
I’ll order 2 from the shop and rip mine off the board. What a moron.

but i also soldered the big ones in where i should have used the normal littles one

Which parts are you referring to when you say big ones/little ones ? It might save me another stupid error…

I’m not even going to try. Even if I had a hot air rework rig, I woudn’t, with all the plastic headers and SMD parts already in place, very close…
No, these two are getting shredded and removed medievally and two fresh ones are getting in. I’ve done that before with PLCC sockets.

The old ways are the best.

Did the same myself. Even with my hot air rework, it was a big pain. They were still of no use and had to order another pair.

Not very pretty but I’m not totally dissatisfied. I’ve reclaimed all 100 holes ready for new headers. It did take at least a foot of solder braid and an hour of patient work though…
After some washing the board looks decent (not so in the pictures here).
Looks like a good recovery!
