gwpt For the Transmute8 resistors, each signal channel’s resistors have a prefix digit, 1 in your text, 2Rxx for channel 2 etc.. For best performance (easiest calibration) the three resistors for each channel want matching as closely as possible, this means tipping all the 50k resistors onto your desk, measuring each and sorting them into piles of, say, 49k97, 50k00, etc., the build video shows this, it is a bit time-consuming and therefore buying 0.1% accuracy resistors is just a time-saver at this stage, more cost for a one-off time save.
The choice of output ranges is -5 to +5v (as designed) or 0 to 10v if you omit 1R34, 2R35 etc., you can have a mix of ranges by omitting just some resistors [if you can keep track of which channel does what].
As for the receiver chip, MC3486NS versus DR, the latter looks like it would be rather narrow to reach the solder pads, I would personally hold off and search for the wider package. I see a couple of suppliers claiming to have a stock but I know neither and both are in America.
