i have a fully build v4+ with the older clear caps…and now i like the new L4 superelipse
1- can i replace the caps without desoldering/destroing all switches ?
2- do i need/want the lightshields ?

Yes, this is easily possible, you can pull off the old acrylic caps with a standard key-lifter tool (or your fingernails) and then insert a light|shield (which is highly recommended for better LED separation) and a new L4 or superQ cap on top.
