First, my setup: Matrix controlling Loopa, Loopa connected via USB to a MIDI router, router via MIDI DIN to Yamaha Montage whith 8 instruments on different MIDI channels.
When Matrix is in key mode, loopa doesnt forward any notes, no matter if fwd is on or off. It only forwards when in routing menue in4 is routed to usb1. And then it sends always on channel 2, no matter what channel is set in the track. The only way to change the channel also via the routing menue.

    @Synthfox thanks for the report!

This should not be the case - could you check if this is a USB-only issue, or if it also happens, if you attach a synth to a classic MIDI OUT? If a synth on classic MIDI OUT works, could you attach a softsynth/VST via a computer to the USB port of your LoopA and test without the USB MIDI router inbetween?

I am using my MatriX with my LoopA on my Mac m1 driving VSTs in Ableton via USB - see photo below, taken a minute ago - USB forwarding works in this setup - are you running the recent v2.09b4 firmware on LoopA and v1.00b4 on MatriX?

Maybe the USB router filters some of the notes?

    Best regards,
    Peter

PS: within Keys mode, please also check that slider 1 (velocity) is set to a velocity > 0 - otherwise the keyboard would play silent notes.

Please also check the the MIDI monitor screen of your LoopA, it should show outgoing note data on USB1 - the last three bytes in the second row of the photo below are a “note on” event going out over USB1 (“09 3a 7f”), note 0×3a at full velocity (0×7f), which was triggered by a similar incoming IN4 event from the MatriX in keys mode on the bottom line:

(the incoming note 0×34 was transposed to note 0×3a by LoopA to test the live transposition of forwarded notes)

      Best regards,
      Peter

        out1.

        Hallo Hawkeye.
I now connected Loopa directly via Midi Din on IN1 and OUT1 to the synth. Same behaviour as yesterday via USB.
        You’ll see here:
Pic1: Loopa plays track 1 without problems to chan1 on the synth.
Pic2: Settings on the routing screen.
Pic3: monitoring track1. Everything as it should. Sending on out1, channel1.
Pic4: monitoring Matrix in key mode, pressing a key. Incoming in4, no output.
Pic5: setup routing in4 to out1. Pressing a key on Matrix now produces a sound on synth, but channel2.
Pic6: setting output to chan1. Synth will now sound on channel1. (Or any other choosen channel.)
Pic7: monitoring keypress on Matrix. In4 sends to out1.
        8/9: Firmware versions.
2nd issue: when a track is armed, i will only receive notes sent from the synth, but not from Matrix keys!
Ich hoffe, du kannst damit etwas anfangen.
        Gruß, Reinhard.

Synthfox thanks for the many pictures and explanations!
I think i now know the reason why it is not working - check the input settings on the track screen - IN1 means it will only accept and forward inputs from DIN MIDI port 1 - either set it to I: IN4 for MatriX only forwarding or better to I:All and IC: All for all ports and all channels.

PS: If you have a MatriX attached it’s recommended to remove MIDI router entries for MIDI packets coming from IN4 as there will be a lot of SysEx control data flowing between MatriX and LoopA and MIDI notes might otherwise get duplicated.

Best regards and have a good evening!
        Peter
